So ummm...

I know I haven't posted in forever but I want to start but now my pictures won't show up.  What's the deal?  Anyone?

A little lime anyone?

Kids like some strange things. Like limes! McKinley loves them despite the sour faces she gives with each bite. See exhibit A:

She takes a bite.

Discovers it's sour and pulls a face then...

she smiles and does it all over again!

Mother's Day

Matt made me this beautiful plate of food for breakfast. Take note of the heart shaped french toast. How sweet! That was all his idea although I think he saw me looking at a picture of eggs in a frame where a person had used a heart shaped cookie cutter to make the frame the day before. He even made me my favorite syrup. Have you tried that yet? You really need to try it! It's the yummiest, carmeliest thing ever and it's super quick and easy to make!

In nursery McKinley made me a flower out of her traced handprints. She thought it was good for dancin! Later she ate the flower. Yes that's right she took a big ol' bite of the fingers or should I say "petals" off and ate and swallowed it. The little stinker.

At church our ward gave each of the women a carnation. I thought it was funny that McKinley thought to put it in her mouth just like in the movies. Who know's, maybe she wanted to eat it too! It was a fabulous day. I even got to take a nap. I must say being a mom to that little flower eating stinker is the best job I could ever have!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Let's go fly a kite. Up to the highest height. Oh let's go fly a kite! McKinley LOVES her Uncle Brycen as well as all her other uncles of course:). She randomly says, "uncle brycie" all the time. It's one of her favorite phrases to say right now and I think it's for reasons like these.

We went and visited my family over Easter and Brycen flew kites with McKinley and as you can see she was impressed!

The Alaskan Inn

For Matt's 28th birthday my parents got us a room at the Alaskan Inn up in Ogden's Canyon. It was very pretty up there and we felt very spoiled we even got breakfast in bed. I loved it! I even managed to keep the trip a secret and surprise him. He thought we were just going to visit my family, but we were actually just going to drop McKinley off.

The Ogden river was right out our window. It is behind my head in this picture. Not that you can see it. :) The water was raging! I would hate to fall into that stream!

Matt told me to pose. Does anyone else hate getting their picture taken by themself? I do. So here is my Vana White pose for you. I don't know if they'd ever take me on Wheel of Fortune. Have I ever mentioned I am like an old person because I love Wheel of Fortune! I just hate when the contestants don't get the simple puzzles. I am one of those people yelling the answer at the t.v. screen as though they could actually hear me!

Queen Elizabeth

My mom got McKinley this fancy coat and my brother's kept teasing her that it was an old lady coat. I think it's pretty darn cute on her.

The glasses really complete the look.

We call it her Queen Elizabeth coat. Doesn't she look like royalty?

Bedhead

McKinley's hair is naturally curly and because of this she wakes up with some pretty fancy bedhead like this one.

It's Bubbling Outside

McKinley has been obsessed with bubbles lately so when we woke up this morning to the biggest, fattest, puffiest snowflakes I've seen in a long time of course she thought they were bubbles.

"bah-bulls"
ooh, more "bah-bulls"
I could never convince her to call it snow.  I don't blame her.  It's way more fun to say, "bah-bulls" than it is to say snow.

Matt's Valentine

We spent Valentines day with a sick baby so this card I made for Matt to give to him from McKinley never got printed and so I thought I'd at least post it here because McKinley's kissing faces are too cute to go to let go to waste.

Yep, I think she's pretty darn cute.  She is still a mini version of her dad.  I got the idea for the card from here.  Matt loves Mounds bars and he was suppose to get those with this card from Kin but he didn't get those either.   Instead, we spent the day at the doctor and on the couch being lazy with a baby that was too sick to even cry or move.  It was just ear infections but she also had a super high fever that wouldn't go away for days!  It was sad but I did enjoy having her act like a tiny baby again being so cuddly.

Little Miss McKinley Mae is growing up!

Warning this is a long one.  I've been meaning to do a "real" post for a long time.  Kinley is now 17 months old and I don't want to forget all the fun things about her at this age.  I'll start way back...

She was a mermaid for Halloween.  We bought her a red wig to go with her costume to make her THE Little Mermaid but she was scared to death of the thing for some reason.  I would pull it out and she would start flipping out! Therefore she was just my big blue eyed mermaid.

She used to do this "funny" face all the time where she would stick her lips out, now her kissing face looks very similar.  Watch out, she gets offended when you give her the cheek!
She is already so girlie.  She carries a purse and is always readjusting it to be just in the crook of her elbow like I do,  just like so...
When I am putting on makeup she likes to be pretending that she's putting on make up too.  She also loves to dance.  Here is one of her moves...

This girl loves to brush her teeth.  Too bad she won't let anyone help so I don't know how much of her teeth actually get brushed but she "brushes" at least 5 times a day.  Another fun thing that happened since the last time I did a real post is that McKinley rolled over and took her first steps all in one day.  Yes, you read that right she didn't roll over from her back to her stomach until she was 14 months old!  Crazy little thing.  Now she runs all over.  Her favorite game is to be chased and play airplane with her dad.  She also loves building towers with her legos and reading books.

This winter is the first time she's been old enough to notice the snow and I don't know that she cares much for it.  When I took her out for the first time she basically stood there and swatted at the snow with her hand and cried if I walked more than 2 feet away.
Doesn't this picture look like she's lost in the Antarctic or something with the snow drifts behind her?
She loved the Christmas tree and was so fascinated by it.  She only managed to break two glass balls.  I was impressed!

oooh pretty....
She loves to read.  Or should I say, she loves to read to you.  She will go on for hours if you let her.  She doesn't even care that the book is upside down she will jabber FOREVER!  I love it!

If only I could speak her language.  Right now she says Mom, Dad (although Matt's also called Mom half the time), Bye, Ta Da, sometimes she'll say, "way" when I tell her, "No way!"  She tries really hard to copy words now too.
For Christmas we went up to my Mom and Dad's house.  McKinley was sick for days before Christmas and she got so skinny.  Here she is with loot from her stocking on Christmas morning.  I was so happy she was excited about food the poor skinny thing.

I'm afraid she is a junk food junky.  The girl loves to get her hands on some chips!  She even knows what chocolate chips are.  The other day I walked into the living room and she somehow got chocolate chips out of the pantry and then pulled a pillow off the couch and layed down with her bag of treats.  When I saw her she just said, "Mom" and started jabbering about the chocolate chips to me.  She was very proud of herself.  She gave me lots of shoulder shrugs (she does that when she's excited).

We love this little munchkin.  I think she's pretty perfect!
